GROW
model explained

The GROW coaching model is a framework for structuring coaching sessions. It stands for Goal, Reality, Options, and Will (or Way Forward). It is a simple but effective way to help individuals or teams set and achieve their goals.

Goal: The first step is to identify the desired goal or outcome for the coaching session. This may be a specific outcome or a more general area of improvement. It is important that the objective is clear and measurable.

Reality: The next step is to assess the reality or current situation. This involves identifying the current state of affairs, the obstacles or challenges that may prevent the objective from being achieved, and the strengths or resources that can be harnessed.

Options: The third step is to explore different options and strategies for achieving the goal. This includes brainstorming, problem solving and considering different perspectives.

Will (or way forward): The final step is to establish an action plan, which includes specific steps and timeframes to achieve the goal. It also involves identifying any responsibilities and support needed to ensure success.

The GROW model can be adapted to suit different coaching styles and contexts. It can be used in individual coaching sessions, team coaching or even self-coaching. The model can be useful in areas such as career development, personal growth, business development, etc.
